Welcome to Craig Cottage

Craig Cottage, situated on the picturesque Applecross Peninsula in the Scottish Highlands, is a family-run place where traditional charm meets modern luxury. This west coast holiday home, near the small crofting township of Kenmore, is a place of sanctuary, tranquillity and comfort for the weary traveller.

The Heart of Craig Cottage

Owned by Lorna and Derrick, who are deeply rooted in the region, the cottage reflects their love for the rugged beauty of the Highlands. Derrick, originally from Torridon, and Lorna, from Perthshire, have created a retreat that feels like coming home. Known locally as Creag, which translates to ‘rock’ or ‘rocky,’ the area’s natural ruggedness inspired the cottage’s name.

Design & Construction

Constructed in 2009, Craig Cottage was architecturally designed and built by local craftsmen Duncan and Daniel McCowan. It showcases a traditional one-and-a-half storey style with a contemporary interior that highlights stunning sea views. Our guests can marvel at the landscape from the deck, looking out across Loch Torridon towards Diabaig and Beinn Alligin.

A Base for Adventure

The perfect accommodation for outdoor enthusiasts, Craig Cottage offers access to a variety of activities. Whether your thing is mountaineering, hill-walking, fishing, or kayaking, the surrounding area provides tons of opportunities. The cottage also serves as a peaceful retreat - perfect if you just want to relax on the deck, read, or watch the world go by.

A Home Away from Home

Craig Cottage is more than a holiday rental - it’s a home away from home, enriched with personal touches and a strong connection to the local community. It’s a place where visitors can deeply connect with the Scottish Highlands, making every stay memorable. Whether you’re seeking adventure or tranquillity, Craig Cottage provides an ideal setting for a unique and restorative break. We can’t wait to welcome you!
